Would You Like To Be A Pump Jack This Summer?

The Pump Jacks’ fifth anniversary season is right around the corner, so we’re hosting our annual job fair to recruit the most important people on our team: our game-day employees. The job fair will be held Sunday and Monday, May 20 and 21, at the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce.

With the East Texas Pump Jacks’ fifth anniversary season just around the corner, the team is busy preparing for the festivities. And the Pump Jacks want to add a lot more people to the team this weekend.

The Pump Jacks, along with the team’s concessions partner, Ballpark Concessions, will be hosting a job fair on Sunday and Monday, May 20 and 21, to hire the team staff that will work at home games this summer.

“Our employees are our family, the lifeblood of our organization,” said Pump Jacks general manager Mike Lieberman. “It’s our employees that help make historic Driller Park home to the best affordable entertainment in East Texas.

“And since this is the Pump Jacks’ fifth anniversary season, our employees will help celebrate with Pump Jacks Nation all summer long!”

Available positions include nearly every role at the ballpark, such as ticket sellers, merchandise sales, concessions, wait staff, the promo team… even the mascots.

Working for a team like the Pump Jacks is certainly a job, but it’s also much more.

“Fans come the see the Pump Jacks to have fun, and our employees are here to have fun while they work, Lieberman added. “The ballpark is an upbeat environment that gives employees a chance to see old friends and make new ones from all over East Texas.

“It’s a great summer job for teachers, students and others that have the summer off, plus it’s a fun second job for anyone looking for a little extra spending money.”

Some positions will have roles outside of the ballpark as well. The promo team, for example, will serve as the Jacks’ goodwill ambassadors in the community, appearing at fairs and events during the summer and even throughout the year. Not only does this mean that promo team members have the opportunity to earn even more, but the position serves as valuable experience for anyone looking to work in a field like PR or community relations.

The job fair will take place on Sunday, May 20, from 1 to 6 p.m., and Monday, May 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. It will be held at the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce, located at 813 North Kilgore Street in Kilgore.

Those interested in being member of the Pump Jacks can attend the job fair, where they will learn the specifics of the available positions and submit applications. Interviews will be conducted on-site, so applicants are encouraged to dress accordingly. Applicants must be at least 16 years old to be hired.

The Pump Jacks’ fifth anniversary season kicks off on June 1 when they travel to McKinney to take on the Marshals. The home opener is Wednesday, June 6, at historic Driller Park against the very same McKinney squad. Click here for the complete 2012 schedule.

Season tickets for this summer are already on sale! Lower Box seats, which include in-your-seat wait service, are just $199 each, and Upper Box seats are $150.
