For the second night in a row, the gates were open, the teams were at the ballpark, and the East Texas Pump Jacks were prepared for a home victory.
And for the second straight night, Mother Nature crashed the party.
The Pump Jacks scheduled contest against the Alexandria Aces Wednesday night at historic Driller Park was rained out following a later afternoon deluge of rain. The game will not be made up.
Fans with tickets to Wednesday’s game can exchange them for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2010 regular season game, subject to availability. Exchanges can be made at the Pump Jacks office at 1100 Stone Road, Suite 120, in Kilgore, or at the ticket booth prior to any home game.
The unscheduled off-day leaves the Pump Jacks tied with the Brazos Valley Bombers in the race for the second-half title. Both the Jacks and Bombers have ten games remaining in the second half. The two will meet for their final regular season contest on Saturday night in Bryan.
The Pump Jacks will work out on Thursday before heading on the road to Alexandria on Friday. They will wrap up the important two-game road trip against the Bombers the following night.
The team returns to East Texas on Sunday for the final theGOspot.com Deal of the Week. Fans can visit theGOspot.com to download a valuable coupon for Sunday’s game. Team staff has hinted that this Deal of the Week is easily the most valuable yet, so fans are urged to watch for announcement soon.
