Biography:

Blake was one of the top players in the high school class of 2009. He was all-state in Illinois both his junior and senior years. He was selected to play for Team Illinois in the 2008 USA Junior Olympic Baseball Championships and the 2007 Blue-Grey Classic National Battle of the States Showcase. Blake was named to the Under Armour Preseason All-American Team in 2009, and he went on to hit .423 with 12 homers and 38 RBI for his Normal Community West High School. He finished his high school career as a .392 hitter with 24 home runs and 103 RBI, and he was 3-1 as a pitcher.

Blake, also an outstanding student, earned an all-conference scholar-athlete award his last three years and attended the National Student Leadership Conference and Congressional Leadership Conference in 2008.

After his high school career, Blake was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the MLB amateur draft, but he chose to attend Mizzou. As a freshman played outfield for the Tigers, hit a home run and scored 31 runs.
