Biography:

If Michael seems familiar, it’s because his brother, Mark, was a starting pitcher for the Pump Jacks in 2009. Michael comes to East Texas after his junior year at Stephen F. Austin State, where he was a teammate of Pump Jacks catcher Jarid Scarafiotti. Michael hit .319 in his first season as a Lumberjack with five home runs and 37 RBI. He tied for the team lead with three triples and showed some speed with nine stolen bases.

Michael transferred to Stephen F. Austin after playing two years at Temple College. He had a very good 2009 season, with four homers and 31 RBI. Michael hit .336 and was 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts for a 44-16 team that finished one win away from the Junior College World Series.

At Austin High School, where he lettered three times in baseball, Michael hit .409 as a senior.
