Biography:

John comes to the Pump Jacks after spending his freshman year of college at Penn State. In his first college game action, he threw two scoreless innings against Seton Hall. He got his first career win March 31 against Kent State, pitching 5.2 innings and striking out four. John finished the season having started six games, and for the campaign he struck out 27 in 43 innings.

At Haddonfield Memorial High School in New Jersey, John played varsity football and basketball in addition to standing out on the baseball team. In 2009 he helped lead the Bulldawgs to the Colonial Conference championship and was named first-team all-conference after being named to the second team as a junior.

In the past, John has played for highly successful summer high school baseball teams. His Tri-State Arsenal teams, of which every player went on to Division 1 baseball, were 56-4 in 2007 and 48-8 in 2008, with John going 13-1 and 9-2, respectively.
