Biography:

After spending his first year of college at Arkansas, Garrett is coming home to play for the summer. A native of Longview, Garrett got in to two games with the Razorbacks in 2010.

At Spring Hill High School, Garrett had an amazing senior season. He was a two-way threat, hitting .410 with six home runs and 32 RBI and going 14-1 on the mound with a 1.27 ERA and an astonishing 186 strikeouts, which is a school record. Garrett, a lefty, was a two-time district MVP and the East Texas Pitcher of the Year in 2009 as the Panthers won their district title and finished third in the state.

He had one game in which he struck out all 19 opposing batters. The only player to reach base did so on a passed ball after striking out swinging.

Garrett, a 2009 MaxPrep’s Medium Schools All-American, is expected to be one of the anchors of the Pump Jacks rotation in 2010.
