Biography:

Tyler, one of three New Mexico State Aggies on the team, is a good athlete who got into 16 games on the mound for the Aggies in 2010. A weekend starter, he was third on the team in starts and won six games. He struck out 47 batters and walked 23. Tyler started his first game March 21 at UC-Santa Barbara. One of his best outings came at Sacramento State April 24, when he pitched 5.1 solid innings, striking out seven.

Tyler lettered all four years at Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, Texas. He was second-team all-district as a pitcher in 2007 and 2008 and was voted team MVP in 2008 after hitting .320 with 15 doubles at the plate and going 5-2 with a 3.30 ERA on the mound. He also threw a no-hitter.

In addition to being a baseball standout at Cinco Ranch, Tyler played wide receiver on the school’s football team. In 2008 he led the Cougars to a district title while setting school records in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns.
